Breathing
Exercises
Focus
on Air
This
breathing exercise is a meditation technique that will help you relax and empty
your mind. This meditation technique can be used as a warm up for another
meditation, or you can practice this alone, if your just is just to get relaxed
and stress-free.
Step 1
Find
a comfortable posture for you to sit in. you can either sit up or lie down, as
long as you keep your back straight. Take a moment to feel comfortable in the
chosen position.
Step 2
Close
your eyes and take a long deep breath in through your nose. Follow the air as it
enters your nostrils. Feel the cool sensation in your nose when the fresh air
enters. Just pay attention to the breath. Imagine that the air inside you
gathers all your worries and all your tension and as you exhale, the air will
carry out the worries, making your body calmer and more relaxed.
Step 3
Take
another deep breath in through your nose. Feel it removing stress and tension
from your body. Feel your muscles become relaxed. When ever an irrelevant
outside thought enters your mind. Do not try to block it out but simply
acknowledge it. Recognize it and allow it to leave your mind again as you return
to your breath.
Do
this breathing exercise for as long as it takes for you to feel totally relaxed.
This is just one of many breathing meditation techniques, and you can find more
of them under Breathing Exercises
